I have a vision of children working together - developing plots and characters, writing, illustrating and publishing their own books. I see their co-operation, enthusiam and literacy all developing as children participate in this workshop, which is designed to help them become familiar with the professional process used to create, illustrate and publish books.

Reading is the KEY to the future in regards to literacy skills and capacity.

Our objective in doing this workshop is:

• To improve literacy skills.
• To experience a sense of accomplishment in
  creating, planning and successfully executing
  a creative project.
• To teach a workshop on how to follow and perform the
  steps of producing a children’s picture book.
• To receive the confidence and self-esteem that flows
  from seeing a published work completed.
• To have the opportunity to become involved in a project
  that was larger than themselves.

Daisy May Publishing works with children from ages nine to twelve who want to be authors and learn how to get their books professionally published.
